Parkerville Children and Youth Care is a well-established organisation with 115 years’ experience supporting vulnerable children, young people, adults and their families in Western Australia. Their mission is to protect, care, advocate and promote recovery for children and young people who have experienced trauma from abuse, to support families and to work with the community to prevent child abuse.
They are committed to developing innovative and culturally safe services in partnership with government and other not-for-profit organisations to meet the needs of families in local communities and improve outcomes for them.
Over 175 staff are employed by the organisation with a range of experience, educational backgrounds and skills. Staff include psychologists, social workers, teachers, occupational therapists, professional and respite carers, administrative and corporate staff. The organisation comprises of a ‘leadership group’ which has significant practitioner and leadership experience in areas of child protection, out-of-home care and provision of secondary family support services.
In addition to this, Parkerville Children and Youth Care gained accreditation as a Child Safe Organisation in 2016.
They advocate for and provide specialist care and services to those most vulnerable in the community; children, young people and families who have experienced trauma from abuse.
